اشتبك مقاتلو حركة طالبان مع مشاة البحرية الأميركية التي تقدمت في إطار القوات الدولية نحو قرية مرجه بولاية هلمند، ضمن عملية واسعة النطاق تهدف إلى استعادة سيطرة الحكومة على هذه المنطقة، وسط أنباء عن وقوع إصابات في صفوف القوات المهاجمة.
