قال حزب المحافظين المعارض إن نحو خمس جنود المشاة البالغ عددهم 25 ألفا لا يستطيعون الانتشار بشكل كامل على الخطوط الأمامية. في المقابل وصف الجيش البريطاني هذه الإحصائية بأنها "مضللة".
