ركزت جل الصحف الأميركية على الاتفاق الذي تمخض عن قمة كوبنهاغن بين الدول الرئيسية ومنها الولايات المتحدة، وتباينت بين مرحبة بالاتفاق وواصفة له بأنه فشل ذريع أو دون مستوى توقعات الدول الفقيرة لعدم الخروج باتفاق ملزم لكل الدول من أجل مكافحة الاحترار.
