من المقرر أن يطلق قادة مجلس التعاون الخليجي في قمتهم التي بدأت الاثنين بالكويت خططا لوحدة نقدية يفترض أن تفضي إلى عملة موحدة. وسيدشنون أيضا مشروعا لربط دولهم بشبكة كهربائية وأخرى للنقل الحديدي بما يحقق تكاملا اقتصاديا بين دول المجلس الست.
