أعلنت اليابان إنها تفكر في سحب ملف ترشحها لتنظيم نهائيات كأس العالم لكرة القدم 2018 للتركيز على الترشح لدورة 2022. وستلتحق اليابان بقطر وإندونيسيا وكوريا الجنوبية في السباق لتنظيم مونديال 2022.
