وصل إلى دمشق القيادي بحماس محمود الزهار لإجراء محادثات مع قيادة الحركة بشأن صفقة تبادل الأسرى مع إسرائيل. من جانبه قال وزير الصناعة الإسرائيلي بنيامين بن إليعازر إن إبرام الصفقة بات وشيكا, في حين شكك رئيس الحكومة الإسرائيلية بإمكانية إبرامها.
