دعا حقوقيون ليبيون لإطلاق سراح المعتقلين ممن نالوا أحكاما قضائية بالبراءة, أو انتهت مدة سجنهم, وشددوا على ضرورة احترام القانون والدستور. وكانت العفو الدولية قد قالت إن جهاز الأمن الداخلي في ليبيا يتمتع بسلطة "غير محدودة".
