قال قادة ميدانيون في حركة طالبان إنهم ينوون توسيع عملياتهم خارج قطاع نورستان الشرقي الذي أخلته القوات الأميركية الشهر الماضي. من جهة أخرى لقي ثلاثة جنود من حلف الناتو مصرعهم في عمليات متفرقة ليصل إلى 1516 عدد قتلى العسكريين الأجانب منذ 2001.
