نفى محافظ المعرض الدولي للكتاب بالجزائر إسماعيل أمزيان، أن يكون قد مارس أي نوع من الرقابة على الكتب التي ستعرض في المعرض، قائلا إن ما حدث هو "انتقاء وليس رقابة، لأنني ناشر بالدرجة الأولى، وأنا مع حرية التعبير".
