قال قيادي بالحركة الإسلامية في الأراضي الفلسطينية المحتلة عام 1948 إن جميع المعتكفين بالمسجد الأقصى قرروا إنهاء اعتكافهم طوعا بعد تحقق كل أهدافهم. وخرج المعتكفون الذين قدر عددهم بنحو 400 فلسطيني عبر بوابات الحرم القدسي دون اعتقال أحد.
