أحيت مصر وسوريا الذكرى الـ36 لحرب 6 أكتوبر التي شنتاها على إسرائيل بهدف استرداد شبه جزيرة سيناء والجولان المحتلين. ومن أهم نتائج الحرب المباشرة استرداد السيادة الكاملة على قناة السويس، وعودة جزء من أراضي سيناء لمصر وجزء من مرتفعات الجولان لسوريا.
