عزا الكاتب الألماني يورغن تودينهوفر الفشل الدولي والأميركي في العراق إلى جهل الساسة الغربيين بالعالم الإسلامي وتعاملهم المهين مع المسلمين. جاء ذلك في كتاب بعنوان "لماذا تقتل يا زيد؟ قصة حقيقية للمقاومة العراقية" الذي صدرت مؤخرا ترجمته العربية.
