الجملة التالية توضح أهمية الفاصلة في الكتابة

release him, not hang him.
release him not, hang him.
فالأولى توضح أنه عليهم ان يحرروه ولا يشنقوه
أما الثانية فتبين عليهم أن يمسكوا به ولا يدعوه يلفت منهم بل يجب أن يشنقوه
بذلك تتضح لدينا أهمية الفاصلة أو ما يطلق عليه بالانجليزية comma
