حصد العرب في دورة بكين 8 ميداليات فقط حيث اكتفوا بذهبيتين وثلاث فضيات ومثلها برونزيات متراجعين بذلك عن إنجازهم في في دورة اثينا عام 2004 حيث حصلوا على 10 ميداليات.
