لا يفوت شعب قطر فرصة إلا ويعبر عن وقوفه وراء قيادته في الحصار الذي تفرضه عليها بعض دول مجلس التعاون الخليجي، فبعد الدعم السياسي والصمود الاقتصادي جاء دور الرياضة ليعبر بها القطريون عن دعمهم لأمير الدولة الشيخ تميم بن حمد آل ثاني.
