يرى وزير الدفاع الإسرائيلي أفيغدور ليبرمان أنهم والفلسطينيين قريبون من التوصل لاتفاق سياسي. في حين قال وزير شؤون الاستخبارات أن المفاوضات ستساعد بإيجاد أجواء تشجع التطبيع مع الدول العربية المعتدلة.
