دعا القيادي بحركة التحرير الوطني الفلسطيني (فتح) المعتقل بالسجون الإسرائيلية مروان البرغوثي الشعب الفلسطيني لمواصلة المقاومة الشعبية، وذلك في تصريحات أدلى بها بعد استدعائه في محكمة إسرائيلية للإدلاء بشهادته حول مقتل مستوطِنة تحمل الجنسية الأميركية خلال الانتفاضة الثانية.
