عادت مدينة سامراء لواجهة الأحداث مجددا، وذلك بعد الأحداث التي شهدتها على خلفية مقتل الشاب مأمون حميد في إحدى نقاط التفتيش على يد أحد عناصر الجيش التابعين لقيادة عمليات سامراء، المرتبطة برئيس الوزراء نوري المالكي.
