دعت السلطة الفلسطينية المجتمع الدولي للتدخل لوقف اعتداءات المستوطنين اليهود على المساجد وانتهاك المقدسات بـالضفة الغربية واصفة ذلك بأنه "إعلان حرب" على الشعب الفلسطيني، فيما تعهد رئيس الوزراء الإسرائيلي بنيامين نتنياهو بكبح جماح المستوطنين الغاضبين من تفكيك الجيش الإسرائيلي لبؤر استيطانية صغيرة.
