في الصومال أعلنت القوّة الكينية -الصومالية المشتركة أنها تستعد للتقدم أكثر في عمق المناطق الخاضعة لسيطرة حركة الشباب المجاهدين نهاية ديسمبر الجاري. وتقول هذه القوة إن العملية العسكرية التي تشنّها في جنوب الصومال تهدف إلى القضاء على مسلّحي الشباب وتوفير الأمن اللازم لعمل منظّمات الإغاثة الدولية وتوزيع المساعدات لضحايا المجاعة. وكانت القوّة المشتركة توقّفت عن التقدّم عشرة أيّام بسبب الأمطار الغزيرة.
