يخضع الحجاج في إيران لدورات تعليمية في الطبابة والسلوك الاجتماعي والشعائر الدينية الخاصة بفريضة الحج وذلك ضمن برنامج حكومي متكامل. وتقول السلطات الايرانية إنها لم تواجه أي مشاكل في نقل الحجيج في ظل العقوبات الامريكية التي فرضت على شركة طيران إيرانية لنقل الحجاج على خلفية اتهام طهران بمخطط مفترض لاغتيال السفير السعودي لدى واشنطن.
