قال منصور ضو، الذي كان من أقرب المقربين من العقيد الليبي الراحل معمر القذافي إن "القائد" كان في الأسابيع الأخيرة في سرت، حيث بقي حتى مقتله في 20 أكتوبر/تشرين الأول "محبطًا وقلقًا" يفضّل "الموت في ليبيا" على المثول أمام المحكمة الجنائية الدولية.
