قال الكاتب ستيفن بولارد إن صفقة إطلاق سراح الجندي الإسرائيلي جلعاد شاليط تبين كيفية تغير سياسة الشرق الأوسط في ظل الربيع العربي، وأشار إلى أن إفراج تل أبيب عن أكثر من ألف أسير فلسطيني مقابل استعادة شاليط يعد انتصارا لحماس وشروطها.
