استخدم علماء أميركيون لأول مرة تقنية استنساخ للحصول على خلايا جذعية جنينية بمواصفات معينة لتنمو في خلايا بويضات بشرية غير مخصبة، وهو اكتشاف هام وقد يكون مثار انتقادات محتملة من قبل معارضي أبحاث الخلايا الجذعية.
