توقع رئيس الاتحاد الإماراتي لكرة القدم محمد خلفان الرميثي أن يكون الموقف العربي في انتخابات رئاسة الاتحاد الآسيوي غير موحد ويسوده الانقسام. وقد أعلن الرئيس الحالي للاتحاد الآسيوي بالوكالة الصيني جانغ جيلونغ ونائبه الإماراتي يوسف السركال، نيتهما الترشح لمنصب الرئيس.
