قال المتحدث العسكري باسم المجلس الوطني الانتقالي العقيد أحمد باني إنّ الثوار هاجموا مدينة سرت من اتجاهين مما يدل على قرب تحريرها، في حين قتل سبعة من الثوار في هجوم لمجموعات من كتائب القذافي التابعة لابنه خميس على غدامس قرب الحدود الجزائرية.
