قال رئيس ساحل العاج الحسن واتارا إن بلاده ستزيد إنتاجها من الكاكاو لهذا العام، بحيث يمثل نصف الإنتاج العالمي، وأضاف واتارا أن ساحل العاج تنتج حاليا 40% من الإنتاج العالمي.
