من جانب آخر قال الناطق باسم المجلس العسكري في ليبيا إن الثوار سيطروا على مطار سبها وعلى أجزاء من المدينة. وتعدّ سبها الواقعة في جنوب غرب ليبيا واحدا من معاقل كتائب نظام العقيد معمر القذافي التي لم يسيطر عليها الثوار بعد, والتي يسعون جاهدين لبسط نفوذهم عليها.
