أصبح الاحتفال بالنصر في العاصمة الليبية طرابلس مرتبطا بإطلاق الرصاص في الهواء وأحيانا اطلاق القذائف. وقد تسبب ذلك في مقتل وجرح عشرات عن طريق الخطأ. ولذلك تعالت دعوات من قبل القادة العسكريين للثوار للحد من هذه الظاهرة التي تشكل خطرا على سلامة الناس. يأتي هذا وسط مخاوف من الانتشار الكبير للسلاح في ليبيا.
