أفاد مراسل الجزيرة أنّ الثوار اقتحموا حي بو سليم بطرابلس وسيطروا عليه، كما اعتقلوا عددا من افراد كتائب القذافي. وكانت أنباء قد تحدثت عن وجود العقيد القذافي في المنطقة بعد أن فر من مقر إقامته في باب العزيزية.كما تعرض فندق كورينثيا باب أفريقيا الذي يقيم فيه صحفيون أجانب وسط العاصمة طرابلس لقصف وإطلاق نار كثيف من قبل كتائب القذافي وبينما تشهد شوارع العاصمة معارك بين قناصة تابعين للكتائب والثوار تمكن الثوار من تحرير مطار طرابلس بالكامل.
