يحاصر الجيش السوري حاليا مدينة البوكمال بمحافظة دير الزور شرق سوريا، فيما طوق نحو ألفي جندي الزبداني بريف دمشق، وفي الأثناء اعتقلت القوات السورية الكاتب المعارض علي العبد الله عقب انتقاده موقف السلطة من الاحتجاجات.
