تناولت نيويورك تايمز في افتتاحيتها فضيحة التنصت على الهواتف في بريطانيا، التي أسقطت صحيفة نيوز أوف ذي وورلد، وتخيم بظلالها الآن على ما لا يقل عن صحيفتين أخريين بأنها كشفت النقاب عن ثقافة الاختراقات غير القانونية.
