قالت وزيرة الخارجية الأميركية هيلاري كلينتون إن بلادها ستواصل سياسة الاتصالات "المحدودة" مع جماعة الإخوان المسلمين بمصر. من جهتها رحبت جماعة الإخوان المسلمين بأي اتصالات رسمية مع واشنطن كوسيلة لتوضيح رؤيتها.
