كشفت عملية اقتحام قاعدة مهران التابعة للقوات البحرية الباكستانية في كراتشي أن حركة طالبان باكستان لم تستعد قدراتها القتالية وحسب، بل طورتها إلى مستوى يمكنها من العمل بعيدا عن معاقلها التقليدية في الشمال الغربي من البلاد.
