دعا رئيس أركان الجيش الإسرائيلي بيني غانتس الأحد الجيش للاستعداد لحروب على جميع الجبهات معا وأن تتحول إسرائيل كلها إلى جبهة واحدة، في حين اعتبر الرئيس الإسرائيلي شمعون بيريز أن "الجنود الإسرائيليين القتلى شقوا الطريق إلى السلام".
