يبدى الإسلاميون في موريتانيا تعاطفا واضحا مع ثورة الشعب الليبي بعدما تعاطفوا قبل ذلك مع الثورة الشعبية في تونس ومصر. لكنهم في المقابل يعبرون عن تحفظهم على العمليات العسكرية الجارية في ليبيا.
