دعا الرئيس الأفغاني حامد كرزاي الولايات المتحدة الأميركية وحلف شمال الأطلسي (الناتو) إلى إنهاء مهمتيهما في بلاده, وهو ما وصف بأنه أقوى تصريح بهذا الخصوص, على خلفية احتقان متزايد نتيجة تكرار مقتل مدنيين خلال العمليات.
