قال شهود عيان إن الثوار في مدينة مصراتة بغرب ليبيا يخوضون معارك كرّ وفرّ حول المدينة, وإنهم صدوا هجوما شنته عليها كتائب أمنية موالية للعقيد معمر القذافي، في حين أعلنت قبائل أمازيغية انضمامها إلى ثورة 17 فبراير، التي تطالب بإسقاط نظام القذافي.
