قالت مصادر استخبارية غربية إن الرئيس المصري المخلوع حسني مبارك استغل أيام الاحتجاجات الثمانية عشر التي أسقطته لتحويل ثروته الضخمة إلى حسابات خارجية يستحيل تتبعها.
