أعلن الرئيس المصري حسني مبارك تكليف وزير الطيران المدني الفريق أحمد شفيق بتشكيل الحكومة المصرية الجديدة، وتعيين مدير المخابرات العامة عمر سليمان نائبا للرئيس. وكان مجلس الوزراء المصري الذي يرأسه أحمد نظيف قد وافق في اجتماع له اليوم بالإجماع على الاستقالة.
