دعا رئيس الحكومة العراقية نوري المالكي -أثناء استقباله جوزيف بايدن نائب الرئيس الأميركي في بغداد- إلى ضرورة تطوير العلاقات مع الولايات المتحدة في مختلف المجالات. وذكر المستشار الإعلامي للمالكي علي الموسوي أن مسألة رحيل القوات الأميركية من العراق لم تطرح أثناء المحادثات.
