رفضت إسرائيل طلبا تركيا لإلغاء اتفاق ترسيم الحدود البحرية مع قبرص والذي يمهد لتل أبيب استثمار حقول الغاز المكتشفة في البحر المتوسط. وكانت تركيا احتجت على هذا الاتفاق، واعتبرته محاولة إسرائيلية للتدخل في مسيرة انضمامها للاتحاد الأوروبي.
