قالت الكاتبة البريطانية روس وين جونز إن الاستفتاء على انفصال جنوب السودان عن شماله من شأنه أن يقود البلاد إلى الفوضى، وأضافت أن حالة عدم وجود رابح ضمن الأطراف السودانية بشكل عام من شأنها تعريض البلاد للفوضى والاقتتال والحرب الأهلية.
