كتبت صحيفة الصحافة السودانية أن المغالطات بين شمال وجنوب السودان سببها تأخير تنفيذ قانون الاستفتاء، مؤكدة على دور الصحافة في مراقبة هذا الاستحقاق، بدورها اعتبرت صحيفة الحياة أن الاستفتاء على مصير الجنوب لن يكون إلا مناسبة لاستقلال الدولة الجديدة.
