أصدر القائد العسكري الأميركي في جنوب العراق بيانا تضمن تقريعا لاذعا ونادرا للحكومة العراقية إثر اختفاء شحنتين تحتويان على حواسيب محمولة كانت الولايات المتحدة قد أرسلتها هدية لتلاميذ المدارس في مدينة بابل، قبل أن تصل إلى أصحابها.
