حذرت مذكرة حكومية أميركية أن يؤدي حظر التنقيب عن النفط بالمياه العميقة، إلى الاستغناء عن 23 ألف وظيفة، وعرقلة استثمارات بأكثر من عشرة مليارات دولار. وتشير تقديرات حكومية إلى أن إنتاج النفط العام القادم سيتراجع بنحو 30 مليون برميل جراء الحظر.
