قتل نحو ثلاثين وجرح عشرات بمفخختين ضربتا الكوت جنوب بغداد، وجاءتا بعد هجوم شنته القاعدة ببغداد، نصبت خلاله علم "دولة العراق الإسلامية". وحذر مسؤولون من تزايد العنف مع تأخر ميلاد الحكومة. ونشرت بغداد أرقاما تظهر أن يوليو أعنف الشهور منذ مايو 2008.
