أفادت دراسة إسرائيلية بأن تطوير قطاع الغاز في البلاد يأتي في إطار جزء من جهد إستراتيجي شامل للتحرر من التعلق بالنفط, حيث حدث في العقد الأخير تطور مدهش في استكشاف الغاز ونقله واستهلاكه الذي زاد سريعا إضافة إلى تطوير مصادر طاقة متجددة.
