أكدت أميركا على دور رئيسي للهند في تحقيق الاستقرار والسلام في أفغانستان، ولكنها لفتت في الوقت نفسه إلى أهمية الدور الباكستاني في استقرار الأوضاع في هذا البلد الذي لم يذق الاستقرار منذ عقود.وحرصت واشنطن على طمأنة الهند إزاء الخطة الأفغانية الأمنية الجديدة.
