لقي ستة جنود أميركيين مصارعهم في معارك متفرقة مع مسلحي حركة طالبان في شرقي وجنوبي أفغانستان, بينما تواصلت موجة الغضب داخل أفغانستان جراء مقتل مزيد من المدنيين بنيران القوات الأجنبية. يأتي ذلك بينما يعتزم قائد القوات الأميركية ديفد بترايوس تغيير قواعد الاشتباك.
